ECON – Learning partnership for Active citizen’s participation of disadvantaged groups
Is a project targeting the need of disadvantaged groups to be involved in the community live and community making decision process in order to solve their problems and to better integrate them in the community. This specific need will be targeted through involving organizations working with disadvantaged groups, community organizers and volunteers in a learning process based on local actions (organizing disadvantaged groups) and based on exchanging experiences between community organizers and organizations through seminars, case studies development and site visits in an EU context.
We will involve different disadvantaged groups in the community organizing process and will exchange experiences between organizations and community organizers involved (planning together community organizing processes, tools; giving/receiving feedback on their solution applied at the local level; developing case studies with best practices in working with disadvantaged groups)
General objective of the project is: to improve and develop the partnership between EU organizations involved in learning active citizens’ participation of disadvantaged groups (from different EU countries) applying the Community Organizing model
The general objective will be reached through four (4) specific objectives:
- Involving 40 volunteers from disadvantaged groups in learning active citizen’s participation of people from disadvantaged groups (migrants, low income, unemployed, poor people from rural areas)
- Exchanging experiences in planning Community Organizing processes for disadvantaged groups between 12 Community organizers from 4 different organizations and countries (partners in the project)
- Involving 12 Community Organizers in site visits and community organizing practical stages at the other partner
- Developing of an E-tools platform with community organizing information, FAQ, instruments and best practices and for communication and learning of volunteers and community organizing experts working with disadvantaged groups from EU countries
Main activities of the project are:
- development of a communication E-platform on www.commnityorganizing.eu,
- exchange experiences seminar in Hungary
- site visits in all 4 countries of partners: Romania, Germany, Poland, and Hungary
- case studies development for each local community development proces
- conference for disseminating results from the local level in Poland
- project coordinators meetings in Romania
- evaluation meeting in Germany
